Labiaplasty

Labiaplasty.

For many, it could be a strange word. For many, it could be a word that could change they way they look at themselves.

Labiaplasty is basically an aesthetic uplift that helps fix your lips down there.

Now that you have understood what is being meant here, let’s get down to business.

Labiaplasty is the surgery that rejuvenates female external genitalia, the surgery that makes your vulva look like a slit triangle rather than a platter of crumpled flesh!

Let’s get to it!

What is Labiaplasty?

What is Labiaplasty

In some women, the  inner folds ( labia minora)are too big and they hang down outside the fold. The aim of a labiaplasty is to create a ‘compact’ and ‘tucked in’ look.

Who is a good candidate for a Labiaplasty?

Apart from those who opt for Labiaplasty for making their lady part aesthetically pleasing, women like actors, fashion models etc. need a surgery to get a nicer fit of their skin-fit clothes like a bathing suit.

Athletes with larger inner flaps need a labia correction surgery or labiaplasty to avoid discomfort or injury in the said area.

Women sometimes need to reconstruct their labial area after a childbirth, and that’s when labiaplasty is a good solution.

Labiaplasty is also a part of male-to-female sex change operation.

How is Labiaplasty done?

Labiaplasty Results

For a basic understanding, during the labiaplasty surgery, the surgeon cuts out the excess portion of the skin or tissue. It sounds simple but, it is actually a very complex procedure. The area we are dealing with has a lot of nerve endings. One small slip of the hand may have serious consequences. But with the correct surgeon, you have nothing to worry about. When outer labia are saggy they are filled with fat or filler injections to make them look plump and youthful .

The doctor will give you local anaesthesia and you can be painfree through the entire procedure. Even though it’s a tricky surgery, it does not take much time. It is done on an outpatient basis.

What happens after a Labiaplasty surgery?

Labiaplasty has a downtime. You will experience pain and swelling. Remember, it’s a very sensitive organ and it is affected by movement of your legs. It is advisable to avoid heavy activities for a week. The pain is taken care of with painkillers.

Within a week, the swelling will subside. You will be able to go back to normal life, including sexual activity, within a month. It’s still wise to take it slow.

Labiaplasty is mostly appreciated by women who go through it. All surgeries come with a certain degree of risk. The risks with Labiaplasty are very few and they can be avoided with cautious operation and proper postoperative care. As long as your expectations are realistic and you don’t want to make your labia look like an actual rose, labiaplasty gives satisfactory results.
