FAQ

What is the difference between Surgical and Non-Surgical Treatment?

Surgical procedures are mainly performed when a patient needs to make significant changes to the desirable area. For example, in case of severe wrinkling of the skin the patient is advised to undergo facelift as an aesthetic solution.

Whereas Non-surgical procedures are effective when the changes that a patient wants to make are more precise or minute, the kind that do not require incisions of any kind. The nonsurgical treatment is available for almost anything, even sinus problems.

How long is the recovery period?

As a rule of thumb, a patient should avoid any physical activity in the first 48 hours after the procedure. If a patient’s body is healing properly, light exercise can be recommended by a doctor. They can even help you with a customized workout plan. Recovery time varies from person to person and procedure to procedure, still a minimum of 8-12 weeks is necessary for full recovery of the body.

What are the risks involved?

All surgeries carry risk, including cosmetic procedure. A fully healthy person might face mild discomfort, but it fades away with time. You should always consult your surgeon before surgery and inform them of any disease in order to avoid any major discomfort post surgery. Bruising or swelling are quite common post surgery and generally take a few weeks to heal but the operational scars are permanent, although they might diminish little after some time.

What kind of activity restrictions will I have following surgery?

The activity restrictions are different for various procedures. If you had facial surgery, then bending is strictly off limits. You should also avoid heavy physical activities after all types of surgery to give your body ample time to recover. For maintaining good blood circulation and fast healing most surgeons recommend walking a little bit but not too fast.

How long before I can go back to my regular routine?

In order to get back to your normal routine you must give your body proper time to heal. The time varies for different surgeries and sometimes a patient might need more time to recover, so a surgeon should always be consulted for a better time frame guide.

How long before I see the final results of my surgery?

A realistic approach is always necessary when you are looking for results. Cosmetic surgery is quite effective and visible results can be observed within the first 3-6 months. The results can take a bit longer depending upon the procedure you had and the state of your body health. You should always be patient with the results and look for difference rather than perfection.

How long will the results last?

The surgical procedures last longer than non-surgical procedures, but nothing lasts forever. The usual lifespan of surgical procedures can vary from a few years to even decades if you take proper precautions. A surgical treatment cannot prevent future effects of aging and thus very few cosmetic procedures claim to be life long.

How much does the procedure cost?

The final cost of the procedure will be determined after your condition is examined at Ambrosia. The prices are only for the procedure at the clinic and not inclusive of post-surgery medicines like antibiotics or painkillers etc. GST is applicable in addition to the price of the treatment.
